Sometimes people ask me about my religion. I work at the Church of Scientology, so it does play a large part in my everyday life. I meet with members of other religions, and even religious leaders from the likes of the Anglican and Catholic churches, and other religions such as Sikhs, Bahá’is, Buddhists and so on. What I find many people don’t know is that Scientologists are not looking to “convert” people away from their current beliefs. So what is it all about?
Scientology is a religion because it teaches that man is a spiritual being. What it doesn’t do is teach the nature of God or try to force you to believe in something. Scientology is not a “thou shall” or “thou shall not”; it is an organised body of knowledge about the human spirit and life. And you can believe what you want to believe. This is an important thing to know about Scientology.
“What is true for you is what you have observed yourself and when you lose that you have lost everything…”
“Nothing in Dianetics and Scientology is true for you unless you have observed it and it is true according to your observation. That is all.”—L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology
What this means is that you could be a Christian or a Jew or a Mormon or whatever you liked, and you could still use Scientology if you found something in it that was true for you. You wouldn’t necessarily have to call yourself a Scientologist, but if you did, you wouldn’t have to stop calling yourself Christian, Jewish, or whatever you already consider yourself to be. Equally, a Scientologist may be only a Scientologist and have no other faith or religious denomination. Personally, I am a Scientologist and nothing else.
So if you want to find out about Scientology, don’t think you’re going to have to denounce your faith, give up your job, stop eating chocolate, or live in a commune. Because Scientology is about life, and you live life every day! Scientology helps you to live life to the full, and to improve your ability to communicate and to get along with the world around you. And I think that’s a good thing, don’t you?
In reality, no single religion could guarantee us a place in Heaven. In the end, what matters is how we a treat other people.`~`
actually it doesn’t matter what Religion you may have, as long as you treat the other person right.;.”
it doesn’t matter what religion you have, just do good and avoid evil.:,
it does not matter what religion you have, just do good things on this world-;.
